Congratulations to our November Student of the Month and Whittier Way winners! Students were nominated for #WhittierWay for respectful communication with their teachers and peers. Student of the Month nominees are recognized for their creativity, imagination, and innovation when creating solutions to a problem.

Just before break, CTE & FACS classes went on their annual field trip to the Career & Technical Education Academy. Students toured the entire facility, including their newly added "small animal" class, full of bunnies, guinea pigs, and chickens! They also watched high school students work on animation projects and build two different houses. #WhittierInTheWild

Whittier 8th grade Band students performed with their WHS & LHS counterparts on Tuesday. They performed 2 pieces and the school song alongside the high school symphonic bands. They represented Whittier so well and had fun seeing former Whittier band students! 🎺🎵📯

Reminder: Whittier's Skate City Night is TONIGHT! 8-10pm. Don't forget your student ID to get the discounted rate!

Earlier this fall, Mrs. Lechtenberg's class checked out the "Pick it! Try it! Like it!" program from SDSU Extension. The class allowed students to learn about fruits & vegetables they may not have tried and to prepare a recipe they can make at home, too. #CreativityInTheClassroom

UPDATE: Homework Help is cancelled for today, Wednesday 11/15.

This morning, we welcomed librarians from Siouxland Libraries to Whittier for a bracelet-crafting session before class. Students were able to learn about bracelet-making and create their own woven or beaded bracelets to take home. What a great start to the day!

Students in 6th grade enjoyed a few hours bowling with friends on their field trip to Eastway Bowl. 🎳 Looks like bowling is right up their alley! 😉 #WhittierInTheWild

We hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend! To celebrate Veterans Day and honor those who have served and continue to serve our nation, Mrs. Peska's PROtime class crafted cards for Veterans Affairs. #WhittierInTheWild

Couple things to highlight this week: if you are interested in the Dental Mobile, be sure to talk to Nurse Jason at the beginning of the week. Make bracelets with us in the library on Tuesday morning! And don't forget -- another Whittier night at Skate City on Friday!

Reminder, there will be No School on Friday (11/10) for Veterans Day. We'll see you back at Whittier on Monday!

Congratulations to our October Student of the Month and Whittier Way winners! Students are nominated for #WhittierWay by bringing their best self to school and working hard in class. Student of the Month nominees are recognized for their persistence at school by asking questions in class and trying new and difficult things.
