Monday motivation from Whittier!

Hungry for some excellent Mexican-style cuisine? Lucky for you, Whittier's Special Edition Show Choir is having a fundraiser at Qdoba Mexican Eats! This Tuesday, March 24th, go to the 10th street Qdoba anytime between 4-8pm and tell them you're supporting Whittier Show Choir! 25% of sales will be donated to us! We hope to see you there!!!

For this Throwback Thursday we have something new! Last week a student discovered an assignment from 1986 lost in a filing cabinet. The assignment seems to be what students would change or add to Sioux Falls. This is especially cool because our 7th grade students do this same assignment every year!
Some highlights from the map include: an artificial lake near Falls Park, a university where Whittier Field now is, and space for a shuttle launch.

A group of our 8th grade girls recently took part in the Women in Science Trip to Southeast Technical Institute!
The students spent the day learning about careers in science, technology, engineering, and math while connecting with women currently working in STEM fields. It was a great opportunity for them to ask questions, explore different career paths, and see what their future opportunities could look like.

The Whittier Performance Dance Team brought the energy this week with their hip-hop routine, performing at both the 8th Grade Basketball Game and the Staff vs. Student Basketball Game!
A huge thank you to Brooklyn Rieger and Emma Hulstein from Washington High School for volunteering their time to choreograph such an amazing routine for our students.
Missed the performances this week? You still have one more chance to see them! The team will perform their routine for the final time on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:00 PM at George McGovern Middle School. Come cheer them on!
